Police responded to a reported breaking and entering in progress on Beacon St. in the early morning hours of last Friday.

Upon their arrival officers immediately spotted a man at the rear entrance of the residence and noted that glass panels in the door had been smashed out, according to reports.

The officers handcuffed the suspect, later identified as Danillo Moura, 22, and questioned him regarding his activities at the residence, police said.

Moura reportedly told officers that he was trying to get in to find one of his friends which he believed lives at the residence. When asked for his friend’s name he reportedly said, “I’m not sure, what’s the address here?” When asked whether or not he knew where he was he reportedly said, “No I have been drinking.”

Residents of the home reportedly told police that Moura had attempted to gain entry through a bedroom window, but later heard the smashing of glass at the rear of the residence.

Upon inspection of the perimeter of the home police had reportedly found that glass from a basement window had also been broken.

According to police reports, a search of Moura’s person yielded a diamond ring, a phone charger, and a pair of female sunglasses. When asked where he got the items he reportedly told officers that he had stolen them from cars parked in the residence’s driveway. However, when the officers inspected the area they found that all of the cars were locked and did not appear to have been broken into, police said.

Moura was placed under arrest and charged with destruction of property over $250, receiving stolen property and attempt to commit a crime.

Police are looking for the public’s help in locating the owner of the property found in the possession of the suspect. Please call 617-625-1600 Ext. 7220 if you have anything relevant to the case to report.
