Somerville Kiwanis ring in holiday cheer with toys and more

The Somerville Kiwanis Club, their President Patricia Ng and their members held their annual “Christmas Marines Toys for Tots Tri-meeting” event on Thursday.  The event took place at the Mount Vernon Restaurant in Somerville with invited Somerville Rotary and Somerville Lions Club members in attendance as well.


Students from the Somerville High School Chorus filled the packed function room with festive modern contemporary holiday music that put everyone in the Christmas spirit while Marines in uniform gathered the hundreds of generously donated toys that were collected by the Kiwanis Club member’s Toy for Tots toy drive.

The Kiwanis Club’s 1st “Lucky K Drawings'”raffle which gave away nine prizes ranging from $100.-$1000 totaling $2500 were presented to the lucky nine winners. The Kiwanis will hold their 2nd “Lucky K Drawings” raffle at the club’s St Patrick’s Day event and a 3rd during their Forth of July event.

Proceeds raised by the Kiwanis raffles were donated to benefit The Somerville Kiwanis Charitable Programs such as the SHS Senior Scholarship College Fund.
