Loss prevention agents at Home Depot on Mystic Avenue followed a man last Thursday as he had allegedly grabbed some water filters off the shelves and walked past the cash registers without paying for them, according to police.

The loss prevention agents had detained the suspect, Mark Bolotte, 29, of Boston, at a nearby location and called in Somerville police to affect an arrest, according to reports.

Bolotte was reportedly escorted back to Home Depot by police and the water filters were returned. He was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting by asportation.
