June 26 saw Powderhouse Park bring the groove, as hundreds of spectators sat out and tuned in to some soulful tunes. Sponsored by the Somerville Arts Council, the event saw seven hour-long sets of Jazz to help the soul feel at ease.

‘Villens grooved in the summer sun as John Funkhouser brought a pensive, but rocking rendition of their original The Deep. For those with a more classic ear, Argentinian Florencia Gonzalez brought out a Latin flavor with tangos and twists in calypso beat. It was a feast for the ears and a great way to spend a day.
