Somerville Police received a call last week from a frantic female who was reportedly being followed by a male who was aggressively pursuing her and making lewd remarks.

Crying and upset, the woman attempted to establish her whereabouts with police over the phone, even though she had to keep moving to try to get away from the man.

She was finally located on Mystic Avenue, under Route 93, and was reportedly observed speaking on her phone while the man in question stood close by, in a manner that the responding officers considered to be an invasion of privacy.

The woman, crying, reportedly asked the officers to get the man away from her. Upon being questioned, she stated that the man persisted in following her for several blocks, and suggested that they should “get drunk and do drugs,” as well as have sex together. She also claimed that the man grabbed her at one point, preventing her from getting away.

Diego Morales, 31, reportedly homeless, was taken into custody and charged with assault and battery, and accosting/annoying a person of the opposite sex.
