Six Somerville police officers were recognized at the Irish American Police Officer’s Association, Twelfth Annual Awards Dinner, which was held Saturday evening, April 23, in Newton. The following officers received awards:

Lieutenant Gerald Reardon,  Medal of Valor

Sergeant Joseph McCain,  Medal of Valor

Detective Ernest Nadile,  Medal of Valor

Detective Mario Oliveira,  Medal of Valor

Officer Dante DeFronzo,  Medal of Valor

Officer Albert Gee,  Life Saving

The awards were presented for acts of bravery and courage or life saving during the year 2010.
