The clangs, thumps, sounds of falling pins and cheers filled the brightly lit candlepin bowling alley Sunday morning, January 19. There were multiple multi-generational groups of families and friends enjoying a long weekend activity (and at least one birthday party).

Sacco’s Bowl Haven, a Somerville and New England institution, opened its doors in 1939 and still delights. Flatbread Company owns and operates the alley, serving wood fired pizza in Davis Square since 2010. Flatbread hosts multiple Benefit Bake Nights every month, where a portion of every pizza sold supports local causes.
