Somerville Media Center reopens

Wednesday night radio hosts get acquainted with the new podcast studio.

Somerville Media Center has reopened to the public and is bringing new facilities and services online for the Somerville community. Public hours are Monday – Thursday: 12 to 8 p.m., Friday: 12 to 6 p.m. and Sunday: 4 to 8 p.m., 12 Tyler Street.

Their new computer lab and podcast studio are operational and already providing service to members. Their new and luxurious conference room has already hosted meetings for staff and board of directors. Next online will be, their hot set mini-studio and full-sized main studio. SMC welcomed three new members to the Board of Directors on Jan 13. Jhenny Saint-Surin specializes in work with government, philanthropy, nonprofits, grassroots organizing and the private sector and has served on SMC’s board in the past. James Mucci, retired Senior Director of Financial Operations of Harvard University School of Dental Medicine, was elected as the new Treasurer. Ben Martin, Senior Program Director of Somerville’s CityTV, was appointed ex-officio to the board by the Mayor’s Office. Joseph Lynch was elected President and Tracey Pratt was elected Clerk.

The board expressed incredible gratitude to the three board members who completed their service in January: Joe Constantine, Linda Walsh, and John Long.
