Somerville juvenile arrested in connection with shooting incident

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on November 1, 2024, on Boston Avenue.
 
A 16-year-old juvenile from Somerville was taken into custody today in Cambridge after Medford police detectives identified him as involved in the shooting that took place last week in Medford.

The juvenile is facing several charges in Cambridge Juvenile Court, including:

– Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
– Carrying a Firearm Without a License
– Carrying a Firearm with Ammunition
– Possession of Ammunition
– Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building
– Attempted Assault by Discharge of a Firearm

 
The incident occurred on Friday, November 1, 2024, at around 1 a.m. Two individuals fired multiple shots at a victim during an altercation near 364 Boston Avenue. Officers on the scene that morning located a firearm along with several shell casings. There were no reported injuries.
 
This arrest was made with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VAFS) and members of the Cambridge Police Department.
 
The second suspect, identified as Sinai Stephens, 18, of Cambridge, is still at large.
