Life Alive Organic Cafe is pleased to announce the highly anticipated opening of its 12th location, debuting in Somerville’s Union Square neighborhood on Tuesday, November 5 at 7:00 a.m.
The 3,500 square foot cafe will open at 20-50 Prospect Street in the bustling neighborhood of Union Square, known for its lively arts scene, eclectic dining options, and tight-knit community. To celebrate the grand opening, beginning at 7:00 a.m., the first fifty customers will receive a branded tote bag with special gifts from local businesses like Taza Chocolate, The Bouldering Project and Life Alive’s charity partner for the opening, The Somerville Community Growing Center. Complimentary cold brew coffee and strawberry lemonade will also be offered (while supplies last).
With 75 seats, the café aims to create a welcoming urban retreat where guests can gather, relax, recharge and ultimately, feel at home. Designed with a colorful, contemporary aesthetic, the space will showcase an array of artwork and cozy corners perfect for intimate conversations or solo work sessions. Guests can enjoy convenient features like plenty of power outlets, complimentary Wi-Fi, and an outdoor patio with seating for 24–– inviting patrons to soak up the fresh air while sipping their favorite beverages.
“We couldn’t be happier to continue the expansion of the Life Alive brand here in Somerville. The Union Square neighborhood exudes a sense of community that is integral to our brand’s mission,” says Bryan Timko, CEO of Life Alive Organic Cafe. “We strive to make our cafes a gathering place, where guests can enjoy a healthy and energizing meal, a peaceful setting for remote work, or drop in for a quick smoothie after a workout class. We hope to become a mainstay in Union Square, providing residents an urban oasis away from the hustle and bustle.”
The chef-inspired menu offers a wide variety of options, including hearty warm grain bowls, salads, ramen-style noodle dishes, soups, açaí bowls and smoothies. With Life Alive’s “Eat Positive. Live Positive” vision at the forefront, each dish is artfully prepared from scratch daily prioritizing whole, organic ingredients.
Life Alive’s chefs chop, simmer, steam and roast each vegetable, legume, and whole grain with intention to create mouthwatering textures and flavors in each made-to-order dish. The cafe also takes pride in its rotating seasonal menu, which allows guests to enjoy ingredients at their peak freshness, quality, and nutritional value. Fall offerings include delightful treats like a ButternutSpice Latte and the Autumn Falafel Warm Grain Bowl with roasted butternut squash, Brussels sprouts, and carrots.
In addition to providing nourishing food, Life Alive is dedicated to giving back to the community. To celebrate the grand opening, the brand has partnered with local charity, The Somerville Community Growing Center, whose mission is to foster community engagement through sustainable gardening and environmental education by the use of their ¼ acre hillside near Union Square. Life Alive will be donating a portion of the proceeds from opening day to their mission.
Life Alive Organic Cafe invites the community to join them in celebrating the opening of their new locations in Union Square, and to sign up for their new perks program, &Thrive. The program allows members to gain insider access to all things Life Alive—everything from craveable exclusive menu items to energy-boosting content and plenty of sweet surprises along the way.
