Hopeful Romantic
I perfume my skin with the scent of temptation
Sugar, apples, and cinnamon
My, how Oscar Wilde would be proud.
A gentle hum within the night
Of his breaths falling in and out
A particular melody, and it’s my favorite sound.
Gentle whispers into my hair
As we move in slow motion
Not like the world will care
But I feel solace while in your arms.
You wake me gently in the night
Kiss me while you doze
Hoping to keep this moment all to myself
though perhaps the moon can also know.
