Girls Varsity Soccer has a winning record this season and they are on the path to victory! Highlanders have won five of the last six games.

“So far, this season has been going great,” said Head Coach Marco Antonio Osoy.

This season, Girls Varsity Soccer has seven wins, three losses and one tie.

At the beginning of the season the Highlanders suffered a big loss against Revere. “It was just a bump in the road, but we have managed to recover from that,” Coach Osoy said.

They’ve had a high percentage of ball possession, which has helped them win games, says Coach Osoy.

“We are a very competitive team,” he added. “The girls have worked really hard to get to where we are right now.”

Coach Osoy has team dinners on some Friday’s and there’s lots of good food and bonding. “They love pupusas,” he says. “We just have a good time…and we just have fun.”

Leila Mahoney recently moved up from JV to Varsity this year, and she has been doing phenomenal, Coach Osoy said.

Beatrix Calvert has also been moved up from JV to Varsity to fill-in as the back-up goalkeeper position.

Sophomores Anika Johnson and Camila Plata have the highest number of goals on the team. Camila Plata has scored 22 goals and Anika Johnson has scored 18 goals.

The team has scored a total of 57 goals.
