New Somerville Media Center early bird tours this week

On September 4, 2024, in Latest News, by The Somerville Times

In March, Somerville Media Center secured a lease with Rafi Properties for approximately 5000 sqft of space at 29 Properzi Way in Somerville.  The new facility will be located in the Somernova campus among a number of buildings that are part of a proposed future development project.  SMC contracted with architectural firm Studio Troika to design and oversee construction and have chosen Menemsha Solutions as a general contractor.  Both groups have been excellent partners to SMC through this process and have been very responsive to the community and technology-oriented needs of our organization.  Permit applications have been filed with the City of Somerville and hammers are anticipated to swing shortly after September 9.

If you’re interested in getting the first look at the future Somerville Media Center then come tour the vacant space before demolition begins next week. We know many of you have wanted details about the plans and construction and here is our first chance to share it all. Tours will be led by SMC’s new executive director, Sean Effel. You will be impressed by the potential of the new facility and surprised to see the progress in future construction tours. Take your pick of two times this week – and bring your cameras.

  • Wednesday, September 4, 5:30 p.m.
  • Friday, September 6, 4:00 p.m.

Please RSVP to director@somervillemedia.org with your choice of date and the number of people coming with you.
