A union contractor hired by KSS Realty to work on the MaxPak site changed her story when interviewed by Somerville Police March 9.

Jill Miller of Lowell Demolition Firm RSG claimed that Tom McIntyre, of the Bricklayers Union, had spit on her as she tried to enter the MaxPak site. She told the Somerville News that she had personally seen McIntyre spit on her.

However, when confronted by Police, she changed her story and now claims that she does not know who spit on her leg, said Deputy Police Chief Michael Cabral.

“As of now, there is no ongoing investigation,” said Cabral.

When asked about the incident, McIntyre pointed to his video evidence, as he videotapes every incident that occurs at his picket. He also pointed to the fact there were six police officers in the immediate vicinity. “There was a sergeant standing right there.”

Miller was joined by KSS Realty Executive Ted Tobin in singling out McIntyre. Tobin also dismissed McIntyre and the Somerville workers’ protest as being illegitimate.

KSS Realty has not yet awarded any contracts for the work at the MaxPak site, but will be meeting with Boston union members on Friday to discuss future plans.
