Somerville Police Crime Log May 21 – 27

Assault
On 5/22/24 at approximately 4:57 p.m, Somerville Police responded to Great River Rd. for report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated she was involved in an argument with a male party. During the argument, the male party spit at her. Officers identified the male suspect.

Commercial Breaking and Entering
 On 5/21/24 at approximately 1:56 p.m, Somerville Police responded to a construction site on Mystic Ave. for a report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated several high priced construction items were stolen from the site over the weekend.
 
Assault
On 5/26/24 at approximately 6:54 p.m, Somerville Police responded to Assembly Row for report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting party who stated two teenage males on bicycles approached them and began cursing at them. One of the teens then struck the reporting party’s son with his bike.
 
Residential Breaking and Entering
24030793: On 5/27/24 at approximately 1:13 PM, Somerville Police responded to a residence on Sycamore St. for a report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated multiple tools of his were stolen from the basement.
 
Arrest
On 5/27/24 at approximately 2:00 p.m. Somerville Police responded to a residence on Gilman S.t for report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a witness who observed an altercation outside his house in which a male party discharged a firearm in the direction of another male. The round ricocheted off the pavement and struck a bedroom window. No injuries were reported. Officers later identified the suspect and he was placed under arrest. Officers recovered a loaded handgun from his residence.
