Annual Patriot’s Day Colonial Fair

On April 12, 2024, in Latest News, by The Somerville Times

On Monday, April 15, the City of Somerville will be celebrating Patriots’ Day outdoors and in person at Foss Park on Broadway from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. New this year, the city has given a grant to the Somerville Museum to host and organize this annual community event.

The celebration will feature a reenactment of Paul Revere’s famous ride from Boston to Lexington — which happened to pass right through Somerville!

Attendees will enjoy period-appropriate refreshments and colonial games. Colonial clothing is encouraged (lots of instructions on the Internet for how to make your own tri-corner paper hats).

Interested in helping out with serving refreshments, overseeing games, and generally immersing yourself in the Revolutionary revelry? Email the Somerville Museum’s Historic Events Manager, Grace Bryan, at grace@somervillemuseum.org to throw your (tri-cornered) hat into the ring!
