Saturday, March 30 was the day for the annual East Somerville Easter Egg Hunt. For many years, this popular tradition has been hosted by Connexion United Methodist Church and East Somerville Main Streets. Every year, more and more families have come – so much so that the event has outgrown Chuckie Harris Park, its previous location.
This year, a field at Foss Park was rented for the Easter Egg Hunt. Visualize one thousand brightly colored eggs – stuffed with candy – strewn evenly across the brilliant green turf of a football field. Imagine a vast pack of kids fanning out from the gate to grab their share!
The new format made this year’s event more like an Easter Egg dash than a hunt. But the many participants had just as much fun, running around the field in search of treats under bright blue skies. The Easter Bunny was a special guest, dancing around and posing with excited children for photographs.
