On Sunday, March 24, the annual Race of Ireland road race will be held in and around the Davis, Teele, and Ball square areas. Brief traffic delays are expected mid-morning to midday.
Beginning around 9:00 a.m., detours will be set up to accommodate the start and finish lines in Davis Square. The start is at the intersection of Elm and Day Streets, and the finish is at the Community Path by Grove Street.
The race is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m., after which point short traffic delays may occur on the following roadways as runners pass:
• Elm Street
• Holland Street
• West Broadway in Teele Square
• North Street
• Powder House Boulevard
• Broadway in Ball Square
• Cedar Street
The entire race is expected to be completed by approximately 1 p.m., and, again, any traffic delays are expected to be brief.
All adjacent sidewalks will remain open throughout. MBTA buses may be temporarily rerouted. Visit mbta.com/bus for more info.
