In collaboration with Somerville Bike Kitchen, the Dojo @ Somernova, the Somerville Foundation, and Groundwork Somerville have a new subset of the Green Team: the Biking Division.

Over the 2023-2024 school year, five high school students are paid to learn all about bike repair and safety, fix and earn their very own bikes, and fix other bikes to give to community members in need of transportation.

Last week , local community members donated 16 bikes to the Green Team Biking Division. While intaking the bikes, the Green Team learned from local bike experts how to evaluate bikes for their repair needs. Now, the Green Team has a list of repairs that each bike needs, and the team will be working on the repairs over the next few months.
