Life in the Ville by Jimmy Del Ponte
I watched the press conference with Bob Kraft and Bill Belichick announcing a parting of the ways. It was a bit emotional.
If had a chance to tell Bill Belichick something I would say thank you for 24 exciting years. Nothing will ever compare to our exciting Super Bowl wins. Nothing will ever equal the excitement he brought to New England as coach of the New England Patriots. This article is just the thoughts and feelings of Somerville Patriots fans as we say goodbye to Coach Bill Belichick.
JS: “I can’t believe one local radio station host has gone public how depressed they are that he is gone? Not me. There are a number of things in life to get depressed about. This is not one of them.”
JR: “Thank you Bill for all the 20+ winning seasons with the Patriots, Good luck in your future endeavors.”
DL: “Kraft makes it sound like the worst thing that could happen to him. He didn’t have to move on from Bill. Maybe get a GM and new QB in the draft and restructure the offense. I believe this is a move by Jonathan forcing Bobs hand.”
MP: “Thanks so much for your dedication to the game. Thank you for so many years of great football. Best of luck in your next venture.”
KR: “Come to DC the Commanders can really use someone like you. Thank you for bringing faith back to a dead team. You are the best.”
SN: “Thanks for the victories, fun, memories and history-making run!”
Brady won a Super Bowl without Bill, now I’d like to see Bill win one without Tom. However, it turns out we got 24 years of excitement and thrills and for that I’m grateful to Bill for his part. Now go and win coach, just not against the Patriots.
