A 24-year-old Cambridge woman was arrested and charged with selling crack cocaine in Somerville Friday.

Drug unit investigators originally came in contact with Shatika Conward when they observed her Mercedes Benz in the parking lot at 32 Kent St. where they were conducting drug surveillance, police said.

On Friday, police allegedly observed Conward in the Kent Street parking lot pacing back and forth as if she was waiting to meet someone. Shortly after, Jeffrey Zajac, 40, of Woburn, met Conward in the parking lot and Conward passed an object to him, police said.

Police stopped Zajac as he drove down the street and he allegedly made incriminating statements. Police allegedly confiscated crack cocaine from his car.

Zajac was arrested and charged with possession of a class B drug, conspiracy to violate a drug law and a warrant charge.

When officers stopped Conward they allegedly found crack cocaine in her coat. She was arrested and charged with distribution of a class B drug, drug violation near a school and conspiracy to violate a drug law.

Police began civil forfeiture proceedings for the Mercedes Benz.
