City will host Veterans’ breakfast on Friday, November 10; memorial ceremony and wreath laying on Saturday, November 11
Mayor Katjana Ballantyne and the City of Somerville Department of Veteran Services invite the Somerville community to honor the service of all those who have served in the U.S. Military this Veterans Day.
The city will host a Veterans’ Breakfast on Friday, November 10, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Somerville Council on Aging (167 Holland St). The breakfast is open to local veterans and their guests, on a first come, first serve basis via RSVP. RSVPs should be sent to Debby Higgins at the Somerville Council on Aging by calling 617-625-6600 x2321 or emailing dhiggins@somervillema.gov by Monday, November 6.
On Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11, all community members are invited to attend a Veterans Day Wreath-Laying ceremony at the Veterans Cemetery in West Somerville (approximately 1330 Broadway). The service will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a short speaking program. A wreath laying ceremony will follow. The event will happen rain or shine.
