Eligible voters may vote one of three ways:
- On election day at your designated precinct location
- Early voting at City Hall on November 1, 2 and 3
- Vote by mail
Polling Place Change:
Please note that in Ward 4, three ward precincts have new locations and more detailed messages will follow for those precincts. If you are unsure of your polling place, you may look it up online at somervillema.gov/elections or call 311.

How to Vote:
You can vote early at City Hall, by mail, or on Election Day at your polling place.
- Vote Early: November 1 to 3
Early voting for all wards/districts will take place at Somerville City Hall (93 Highland Ave.) during normal City Hall hours from Wednesday to Friday, November 1–3, 2023.
Early voting hours are: .
Wednesday 11/1: 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Thursday 11/2: 8:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. (Note: Evening hours)
Friday 11/3: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (Note: half-day only!)
- Vote by Mail: Apply by October 31, Return by November 7
Download an application, pick one up in the Elections office at City Hall, or request one be mailed to you by calling Elections at 617-625-6600 ext. 4200. Your completed vote by mail ballot must be received by the Elections Department by 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 7. Read more about voting by mail.
- Vote on Election Day: November 7
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Look up your polling location online or call 311 (617-666-3311).
Ward 4 Polling Place Location Changes
- Voters in Ward 4, Precincts 2 and 2A will vote at the Pearl Street Park Building (240 Pearl Street).
- Voters in Ward 4 Precinct 3 will now vote at the Brazilian Presbyterian Church (212 School Street).
