For a 28th year the Somerville Homeless Coalition (SHC) will be hosting its annual Somerville 5K Road Race on Saturday, September 30th. Held just a few blocks away from their recently opened Engagement Center in the heart of Davis Square, the coalition holds this race each year to raise support and awareness for the underserved populations in the Somerville and Greater Boston area. Being a community based organization, the race sees local supporters and organizations come together to help in the fight to end homelessness, food insecurity, and eviction.

This year’s festivities include certified chip timing, a continental breakfast, expanded vendor booths, and fun race prizes for kids and adults alike.  Being a community event, anyone is welcome to run, jog, or walk the race with friends, family, kids, and even pets!
