Woman attacked from behind near Davis

A 19-year-old woman was grabbed by the throat from behind as she was walking on College Avenue near the Davis Square train station, police said.

The suspect, described by police as a black male wearing a red jacket, whispered in the woman’s ear that he was going to kill her, police said.

The incident happened at 10:45 p.m., police said. The suspect ran off in an unknown direction, police said.

The victim refused medical attention.
