I have driven past this location many times only to think to myself, I must give this place a try. Well, I finally went, and now I’m kicking myself for not going sooner. I guess better late than never!
Upon walking in, I noticed there were about seven tables. Not a very big place, but I observed many orders were take-out. The staff was very friendly and eager to provide answers to any questions.
There were many great items to choose from, tortas chingonas, tacos, burritos quesadillas, plates of rice, beans, pico de gallo, and choice of protein, and enchiladas.
They also run specials. On this particular day they had gamachas, two corn tortillas, beans, suadero beef, potatoes, fresco cheese, onions, and hot sauce. Of course, I ordered the special along with two tacos, one chicharon, and the other carnitas. Needless to say, there was plenty of food for myself and my partner in crime.
The tacos were extremely fresh and bursting with flavor. The pork was very tender and succulent. And the avocado crema cooled it down a bit. The gamachas were a total meal within itself.
Typically, suadero beef has a tendency to be a bit tough, but it was tender enough with a slight chew that was barely noticed with the rest of the accoutrements. This is definitely a fantastic value.
Currently there are seven locations, and three of them offer breakfast options. This one in Somerville is one of them. They also offer catering services. Check out the link to the website below.
