The have been recent reports of individuals door knocking and impersonating Water and Sewer department staff and requesting access to resident homes to perform water meter checks.
A City of Somerville employee will always:
– Call before visiting your home
– Present identification
– Never insist they have to enter the residence
– Never ask for money or threaten legal action
If you suspect someone is impersonating a city employee, please call 911.
