Experience the Band that Created the Music for Toy Story 2 and “Woody’s Roundup”
Arts at the Armory’s Spotlight Series is delighted to present Riders in the Sky this Friday, June 16th! For more than forty years, Riders In The Sky has been the keeper of the flame passed on by the Sons of the Pioneers, Gene Autry and Roy Rogers, reviving and revitalizing Western music. And while remaining true to the integrity of the genre, they have themselves become modern-day icons with their own legendary wacky humor and way-out Western wit, and all along encouraging buckaroos and buckarettes to live life “The Cowboy Way!
Riders In The Sky is the star of the stage, screen, the Grand Ole Opry, National Public Radio, Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, Saturday morning TV, and is the only exclusively Western artist group to have won a Grammy Award. Perhaps best known as the recording artists of the song “Woody’s Roundup” from Toy Story 2, they truly are “America’s Favorite Cowboys”!
Opening for Riders in the Sky will be the country music duo Martin and Kelly, the next must-see act from New England to Nashville. With compelling song-writing, dynamic vocal harmonies, and good ole’ country pickin’ Jilly Martin and Ryan Brooks Kelly bridge the boundary between traditional and new country. Most recently they warmed up audiences for artists such as Willie Nelson, The Oak Ridge Boys, Alabama, Dwight Yoakam, and many more!
Doors open at 5 p.m. show starts at 6p.m.
