Live My Reality

She wants me to be someone that I’m not,
To fit into a mold, that I cannot,
To live up to her expectations and dreams,
And ignore the voice, that inside me screams.

The pressure mounts, with each passing day,
As I try to be, what she wants me to portray,
But deep inside, I feel the chains,
Of her expectations, causing me pains.

I yearn to break free, to live my truth,
To be the person, I’ve always known to be proof,
But fear holds me back, fear of her rejection,
Fear of losing her, in my quest for self-perfection.

But I know deep down, that I can’t go on,
Living a life, where I don’t belong,
I need to break out, and live my reality,
Even if it means, the end of our duality.

For a life lived true, is a life worth living,
A life full of joy, and not one of misgiving,
So I’ll break out the chains, and set myself free,
To live the life, that was always meant to be.

And though it may hurt, and it may be hard,
I’ll trust in myself, and play my own card,
For in the end, it’s my life to live,
And my own journey, to love and give.
