Center to open due to forecasted unusually cold overnight wind chills Friday and Saturday

 Weather forecasts are predicting unusually cold wind chills of approximately zero to 7 degrees below zero overnight on Friday and Saturday, February 24 and 25, respectively. To help provide shelter for unhoused community members, the City of Somerville and the Somerville Homeless Coalition will open a joint temporary Overnight Warming Center for unsheltered persons experiencing homelessness on Friday and Saturday nights.

Location: Upper floor of The Armory building at 191 Highland Avenue, Somerville

Hours open:
Friday 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Saturday 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Walk-ins and pets:
Walk-ins are welcome at any time during open hours, and accommodations for guests’ pets are also available.

Direct outreach to unsheltered persons is being conducted. If you see a person experiencing homelessness outside or sheltering in a car during this cold weather, please call 911 for the quickest assistance by either ambulance, the Fire Department, and/or Police to get persons to shelter or medical care.
