Looking for a way to give back to his community, he became an advocate for improving our public schools by becoming part of the PTA and soon led the association as president. Utilizing his passion and talent as a skilled carpenter, he advanced his career to Superintendent of Buildings for the City of Somerville under the Brune administration and beyond. After decades of faithfully serving the city of Somerville, he was recognized and honored with a room dedicated in his name in the vocational shop for carpentry.
Along with his distinguished accomplishments, he was most proud of his extensive family. Affectionately known as Papa by all, he found joy in his grandchildren and was an enormous influence on their lives. He never missed one of his grandkids’ special events. No matter the occasion, be it a game, meet, performance, or graduation, he was willing to drive any distance to be his grandchild’s super fan. Papa left a lasting impression with physical reminders of his presence in each one of our homes by using his talented artistry and resourcefulness. As much time as he devoted to his family, he was also a loyal friend hosting numerous gatherings in New Hampshire and enjoyed playing cards with the “Uncle Anthony and The Rat Pack.” He left an enduring legacy of loving his family and friends to the fullest and his family will proudly continue to celebrate his life by doing the same.
