Residential Breaking and Entering
On 9/21/22 at approximately 7:36 a.m., Somerville Police responded to a residence on Knowlton St for report of past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated the lock on his shed had been cut off. Nothing was reporting missing.
Assault
On 9/22/22 at approximately 9:24 a.m., Somerville Police responded to a group home on North St for report of a past assault. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated a resident slammed a door shut on him causing it to strike him in the head.
Arrest
On 9/21/22 at approximately 6:54 p.m., Somerville Police arrested a juvenile male in the area of 1304 Broadway after he stole a vehicle from Grub Hub driver. The juvenile crashed the vehicle causing it to flip over. The juvenile then assaulted an EMT who was attending to his aid after the crash.
Armed Robbery
On 9/26/22 at approximately 11:35 a.m., Somerville Police responded to a business in the area of Mystic Ave & Temple St for report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated a male party walked into the store then brandished a firearm and demanded money from the register. The victim then attempted to fight the suspect and the suspect fled the area. The suspect was described as a black male, wearing a black sweatshirt, a black hat with a white emblem, a black facemask, white sneakers, black socks and gray sweatpants.
Assault
On 9/26/22 at approximately 1:56 p.m., Somerville Police responded to the High School for report of a former student trespassing on school property. While en route, officers learned the identity of the student from school staff. Upon arrival, officers spoke with two juvenile victims who stated they were assaulted by the trespassing student.
Arrest
On 9/24/22 at approximately 4:22 p.m., Somerville Police responded to Seven Hills Park for report of a fight. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a victim who stated while demonstrating against a group of politicians; he was attacked by four men. He suffered multiple injuries to his face and extremities. Officers then spoke with another victim who stated he was also attacked by the four men. Two of the suspects fled prior to police arrival while the other two remained on scene. Officers identified the two male suspects on scene as Foster STARKS, 36, of Cambridge and Andwain COLEMAN, 29, of Ohio. They were placed under arrest.
Assault
On 9/21/22 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Somerville Police responded to Leathers Park for report of a big fight involving juveniles. Upon arrival, officers spoke with one of the juvenile victims who stated he was in the park waiting for some friends because he heard a fight was going to happen. The victim then observed a group of juveniles that he had prior altercations with. One of the juveniles in the group then chased the victim and attempted to stab him. The victim ran into street and collided with a car in traffic. He then called a friend to pick him up. Officers then spoke with two other juvenile victims who stated the same juvenile suspect chased them with a knife as well. Officers located the juvenile suspect and recovered a knife from his person.
Fight
On 9/23/22 at approximately 3:48 p.m., Somerville Police responded to Fellsway W for report of approximately 30 students fighting with bats. The students fled prior to police arrival.
