First, on Saturday, September 10, Veterans’ Services will host its first health and wellness event to raise awareness for National Suicide Prevention Week, promote physical and mental wellbeing, and connect residents with resources. This event will feature health education and assessments, high-energy fitness classes, and one-on-one coaching services for participants. All first responders and families, Veterans and dependents, Active-Duty Military personnel, and members of the public are welcome. The event will take place at Lincoln Park, 290 Washington Street, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

On Sunday, September 11, the City will hold a procession and memorial ceremony to recognize the 21st anniversary of 9/11. Anyone interested in joining the procession should meet at the Cedar Street end of the Community Path at 9:30 a.m. A speaking program will follow at approximately 10 a.m. at the 9/11 memorial in Davis Square, with the presentation and retiring of the colors by the Somerville Police and Somerville Fire Honor Guards.
