A 16-year-old Somerville boy was arrested Sunday night after he allegedly pointed a BB gun at a man who told him to get off his porch.

The boy was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. The victim told police he was at home when he heard a loud bang.

He went to his porch and saw the boy, police said. When he told the boy to leave, the boy allegedly pointed the BB gun at the victim. The victim initially believed it was an actual gun, police said.

Police found the boy in the hallway of the apartment complex at 460 Mystic Ave. minutes later. The boy allegedly led officers to a snow pile where he had hidden the gun.
