Twas the night before Christmas and all through the Ville,

The Green Line hadn't come yet and some doubted it will

Somerville Ave. is almost complete with all new sewer mains,

Hopefully it will be done before we all have gray hair and need walking canes

While Mayor Curtatone and Chief Holloway say goodbye,

The Chief must decide on which airline he'll fly

Jim Kotzuba's leaving and replacing him Bob Bradley may be the lucky one!

And even though Frankie Santangelo's stepping down, he'll always be the skipper and the Ville's favorite son!

Mayor Joe's role may be expanding as he thinks who's seat he'll have,

With his popularity climbing maybe he's looking at 1300 Pennsylvania Ave!

You can see Santa's sleigh being pulled by a young buck,

We hope that it won't tip over like the DPW's rented truck

With Somerville anticipating lots and lots of snow,

We hope that our new friends really know how to tow

While The All American City settles down to rest,

They dream of future competitions where they can be voted the best

With visions of restaurants and Ikea at Assembly Square Mall,

some wonder if it will ever be built or happen at all

Traffic & Parking has posted new regulations on all of their signs,

They hope that revenue will increase due to the new parking fines

The Performance Art Center has reopened the Armory on Highland Ave,

The city is so excited about all the new performances they will have

U2 appeared in the city and put on a great show,

But you had to know the right people if you really wanted to go

The senate race in Somerville was cut short for our friend Mike,

But we all know our Congressman is the best and one we all like

The Cambridge News Weekly is here and finally online,

Soon there will be many more cities it's just a matter of time

Somerville representatives plan a trip to Morocco to form a sister city,

Let's hope they don't enjoy the weather too much that they stay, it would be a pity

The Licensing commission keeps packie licenses on a tight leash around the town,

But that don't stop the party goers in Davis Square to put a beer or three down

So this is our Christmas Poem for 2009 at the end of the year,

Let's all hope that 2010 is full of blessings and full of good cheer
