Congratulations and best wishes to Police Chief Anthony Holloway who is taking the job as Police Chief down in Clearwater Fla. He's done a great job here in the two years he's been here. We wish him the best of luck, and many especially in the department itself will miss him. The mayor is appointing temporary within the department, Deputy Chief Michael Cabral.

Level of excitement has happened about next Tuesday's election, just ask anyone on the street, hard to find anyone that didn't see the debate on Monday night or at least heard about it. By now everyone has heard of Scott Brown and his climb in the polls recently. He might not win but the left-wingers are worried. There is definetly a difference in the candidates, doesn't matter what side you're on get out and vote — on this one every single vote will count.

With the resignation of Senator Anthony Galluccio recently we hear some interesting names that are popping up to run for the seat. Last week we mentioned Cambridge City Councilor Marjorie Decker; we also hear Everett City Councilor Sal DiDominico. One of our own aldermen who has a great reputation herself is considering a run, Ward 2 Alderman Maryann Heuston. The district spans quite a large area so look for some more names as well.

We are also hearing a rumor that a popular alderman here in Somerville might just might consider a run for state representative, we also hear that someone over in Medford is considering running for the seat as well, and possibility of a challenge on Senator Jehlen's seat as well from over in Medford. This year just might see a lot of the so called saved seats up for a challenge, especially so if that Rep. Scott Brown gets elected, that will send a shock wave or as once said in Lexington the shot heard round the world here in Massachusettes (oh sorry I misspelled Massachusetts just like Martha's ad people)!!!

Happy 16th Birthday to Patrick Tauro, who celebrated his birthday on the 12th and right after school we hear he had his Dad drive him to the registry for application on learners permit. He better hurry, we hear Dad's been selling off all those cars in the yard, only thing will be left is a used tow truck and that might not look good on his first date.

Last week we mentioned about the people at some of the Dunkin' Donuts that insist on sealing the coffees with their bare hands instead of plastic gloves. Think of it your going to put your mouth on the cover that just got pressed down tightly from another person's hand and germs. If the board of health is reading this maybe one of the board members or the director can pass regulations here to make sure anyone handling your food or plastic that is going to touch your lips have a plastic glove on.
