The Engine Companies advanced hose lines into the restaurant and up the outside stairway to the 2nd floor while Ladder 3 and Tower 1 ventilated the windows in the upper floors and raised ladders to building. Ladder 3's aerial ladder was raised to the roof and Firefighters opened a hole in the roof to vent the smoke and heat. The incident Commander, Deputy Chief John Memory struck a 2nd alarm at 10:52 bringing additional companies to the scene. Somerville was assisted at the fire by Companies from Boston, Cambridge and Everett. The fire was extinguished and the "all out" sounded12:43 pm.
There was extensive fire damage to both the restaurant and to the upper floors of the 2 ¬Ω story mansard building. There were no injuries reported. The Somerville Fire Investigation Unit and inspectors from the State Police were on the scene investigating the cause of the fire.
