Somerville Police Public Safety Log – Sept. 7-13

Somerville Police Arrest
On 9/11/21 at approximately 10:00 a.m., Somerville Police responded to the area of 179 Broadway after a male party had approached an officer while screaming. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated he was struck in the face by another male party. The victim suffered injuries to his nose and cheek. Officers located the male suspect and he was placed under arrest.

Somerville Police Respond to Assault
On 9/8/21 at approximately 8:00 p.m., Somerville Police responded to the area of  Middlesex Ave for report of a male and female fighting. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a witness who stated both the male and female had now left the area in their vehicles. Officers were able to locate both parties who stated they were involved in an altercation that escalated into a fight.
 
Somerville Police Respond to Assault
 On 9/12/21 at approximately 3:00 a.m. Somerville Police responded to  Washington St. for report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a Cataldo Ambulance employee who stated that while driving in the area of Cambridge St. and Prospect St., he accidentally cut in front of another vehicle. The other vehicle then followed the ambulance. Once the ambulance came to a stop, the operator of the other vehicle approached the driver and struck him in the face. The male suspect was described as black, thin, in his late 20s, wearing dark clothing and a black face mask. He was operating a black Lexus sedan.
 
Somerville Police Respond to Residential Breaking & Entering
On 9/13/21 at approximately 9:40 p.m. Somerville Police responded to a multifamily residence in the area of Trull St and Vernon St for report of an attempted breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a resident who stated while in the driveway, he observed a male walk through an opening between his fence and garage. He then noticed his screen door had been pried open. The latch on his garage was open as well. Nothing was reported missing.
