The Somerville Commission for Women (SCW) met virtually on Monday night to discuss their transition to the Department of Racial and Social Justice, the Somerville Safe Streets Alliance, and the hiring of a new commissions coordinator.

“We could be lucky and in the two weeks it’s posted we get good applicants and make our decision, but it could take six weeks. We just don’t know,” said Director Denise Molina Capers on the time frame for hiring a new commissions coordinator.

The meeting was also attended by Commissioners Stephanie Galaitsi, Deborah Lormeus, Fabia Oliveria, and Crystal Turner.
