Situated inside the Aeronaut Brewing Co Food Hub, this little gem should certainly be on your list to try. If you already tried it, then you know what I mean.
I was first introduced to Venezuelan food, including the famous arepa, a few years back when a friend of mine wasn’t able to make it to a cooking class and offered me the ticket featuring Las Carolinas, (aka Carolicious), through the Foundation Kitchen on Washington Street.
Still to this day, I make my own arepas. However, they don’t compare to what Carolicious has to offer. Packed full of flavor, texture and creaminess from their signature basil sauce, all of their food is gluten free, with meat, or without, and are vegetarian and vegan.
In addition to arepas, they offer a Pabellón Bowl, with rice, beans, pork, chicken, or veggies, plantains, pico de gallo, mozzarella, topped with their signature basil sauce, and the optional addition of hot sauce.
The only way I can properly describe the dish is, a symphony of flavors. While you’re waiting for your food order, don’t forget to order a fresh local beer from Aeronaut and enjoy the whole experience in their outdoor courtyard.
Be sure to check out their website for special events and catering information.
