Vote by mail ballot applications for the September 1 primary election must be received by the City of Somerville Elections Department by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26.

  2. scan and then email the application to vote@somervillema.gov, or

  3. fax it to 617-625-5643.

Please note: Electronic signatures are acceptable, but your signature has to be similar to your hand-written signature. You can sign your name on a computer or phone using a mouse, finger, or stylus. Typed signatures cannot be accepted.

As a reminder, vote by mail ballots must be received by the Elections Department by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1. While you can mail your ballot back, you may want to use one of our ballot drop boxes as we get closer to election day to ensure your ballot is in on time.
