The Somerville Community Preservation Committee (CPC) is holding their annual Community Preservation Plan public hearing on Wednesday, March 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the 3rd floor Community Room at the Visiting Nurse Association, 259 Lowell St. The Community Preservation Plan establishes the annual funding priorities and allocations for the three categories that Community Preservation Act (CPA) funds can support. The draft plan is available at www.somervillema.gov/cpa.
Individuals and organizations interested in applying for CPA funds are invited to attend a workshop at 6:30 p.m. prior to the meeting, also at the VNA, to learn about the CPA application process. The workshop will cover the process for applying for CPA funds for a project on City land, restrictions for open space and historic resources projects, and the program to support feasibility studies for some proposed projects.
Interested persons may provide comments to the Community Preservation Committee at the hearing and by submitting written comments by Wednesday, April 10, by email to jtumusiime@somervillema.gov or by mail to Judith Tumusiime, SomerStat, 93 Highland Avenue, Somerville, MA 02143.
