employees at the Twin City Plaza on McGrath Highway are seen here
picketing the store on this Spring-like afternoon. Employees are
striking for better health care benefits, amongst other issues. United
Food and Commercial Workers Union – Local 791 AFL-CIO – members are
handing out pamphlets to patrons of the store, advising of the
employee's issues with the company and asking them not to patronize the
store in support of them. Shaws Perishable Warehouse employees, who
supply the store at Twin City Plaza, are also members of the
Somerville/Cambridge community that are on strike as well.
