The cities of Cambridge and Somerville and the Cambridge Community Foundation would like to invite the public at large and also area businesses and organizations to come and “dance for dignity” on October 25 at the Center for Arts at the Armory in Somerville: 7:00 – 10:30 p.m.

The event will feature the classic rock of Stanley & The Undercovers and the creative dance of Jean Appolon Expressions.

Tickets are $20. All proceeds will go to the United Legal Defense Fund, which provides critical pro bono legal defense services for local immigrants—our neighbors and friends who are being subjected to threats of detention and deportation.

Mayors Joe Curtatone and Marc McGovern made the following statement: “Every day we read of federal policies that result in separation of children from parents and violations of the human rights and dignity of immigrants who are legally seeking refuge in our country and those who have lived, worked, and paid taxes in our communities for many years. You can help people caught in these tragic circumstances by sponsoring the Dance for Dignity.”

In addition to buying tickets, neighbors, businesses and associations are invited to become a sponsor.

Sponsorship levels are:

Powerful         $5,000 10 tickets, logo/name on all promotional materials
