A group of Tufts students tried to steal a sailboat from a backyard on Professors Row early Sunday morning, police said.

The group ran away after a Tufts police officer approached but one student was found hiding in the bushes, according to Tufts authorities.

The student, Evan Parker, 19, of 32 Dearfield Drive, Montpelier, Vermont, was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct and assault and battery.
