Time to get fired up and out to Union Square this Saturday for the Ignite! Global Street Food and Fire Festival, hosted by Somerville Flea and the Somerville Arts Council.

It’s time to fire things up with the sixth annual Ignite festival, Saturday, August 11, 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. in Union Square Plaza.

To celebrate Union Square’s sizzling food landscape, they are bringing an evening of international eats, fire throwers, roving entertainment, and a raucous celebration of global culture.

Don’t forget to bring a contribution to the festival’s food drive, benefiting the Somerville Homeless Coalition. It’s easy, just bring a can or two of food to the festival.

The suggested donation is $2, and you will get a cool tiger sticker. Or buy a tiger tee or tote to support the fest.

Entertainment will include poetry by Tim Hall, magic and more from Jungle Jim, Xuchipili Folkloric Ballet, and performances by Robson Leemos and Violin Viv, Bob Filene’s “Magic for Smart People,” caricatures, face painting, tarot card reading, and much more.
