A Newton man was arrested on Powder House Boulevard Friday night after he allegedly drove drunk and caused an accident, sending one man to the hospital. Oren Shahar, 33, of 21 Oak Avenue, Newton, was arrested and charged with drunk driving after allegedly crossing a double yellow line and plowing into an oncoming driver. Police said there were no skid marks before the impact. |

Police said the victim was treated at the hospital and released a short time later.
At the scene of the accident, Shahar was unsteady on his feet, slurring his words and smelled of alcohol, police said. He allegedly failed sobriety tests.
Shahar was arrested and charged with drunk driving.
