Lyrical Somerville – 9/29

I don’t think we have ever had Haiku in the LYRICAL SOMERVILLE.  Local poet John Tiong Chunghoo remedies the situation.

1.

dawn
the trees filter
light and bird songs

2.

morning tai chi
pet dog watches
every of my moves

3.

start of day
the beggar throws some coins
into the bowl

4.

leaf by leaf
the wind
tears away autumn

5.

tonight the sea
sweeping to us
the stars

6.

childhood river
so small
it has become

7.

sunset lotuses
they too have closed
for the day

8.

solid faith
devotees pray to
headless buddha

9.

tea house
next table’s jasmine
dominates the scent

10.

noon lake
stiller than all
a frog
