Middlesex Register of Deeds Gene Brune held his 26th Annual Scholarship Breakfast Sunday morning at Anthony's Function Hall in Malden.

Over two-hundred friends, supporters as well as mothers were in attendance at the event Mother's Day morning in a packed function hall, supporting the foundation's great cause.

Secretary of State William Galvin was the guest speaker at the event with a special guest appearance by Attorney General Martha Coakley as well as Middlesex Register of Probate Tara DeCristoforo, Middlesex Clerk of Courts Michael Sullivan and newly elected State Senator Sal DiDomenico . Many other local elected officials were also in attendance.

Nelson Moreira, a Somerville High School student was the recipient on the 2010 Gene Brune Scholarship award.

Brune presented Moreria a $1000 check from the scholarship fund to utilize towards his education.
