One thing’s for certain in this crazy, mixed up political season: a lot of people are liking and taking advantage of the opportunity to vote early in this year’s general election.

If there’s one thing that most of us can agree on, it’s that not being tied down to one particular day of the year to get out and vote is a good thing for many of us.

For some, getting out on a Tuesday – even up until 8:00 p.m. – is not really an option, for whatever reason. Or what if you just happen to be out of town that day, or too ill to go out? The early voting process is just the thing to keep a lot of people from missing out on their chance to participate in helping to shape the country’s future by casting their ballots.

Early voting has been in progress all across the country this past couple of weeks, and the turnout here in Somerville is impressive. Some 10,000 or more have already voted and more are expected to join in through the rest of the week.

If you think you might like to give it a go, then get yourself down to the Aldermanic Chambers at City Hall and do your civic duty.

The remaining days and hours for Somerville’s early voting are: Wednesday and Thursday, November 2 and 3, 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Friday, November 4, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Be a part of making history and count yourself among those who care enough to have your vote counted.
